VINTAGE BISBEE: OLD AND NEW WORLD WINES AT BISBEE WINE FESTIVAL
BISBEE, Ariz. (July 17, 2006) – Bisbee’s City Park and
the historic Brewery Gulch will be the site of a festive evening of
wine, food, and music during the Vintage Bisbee Wine Festival on
Saturday, October 7th, 2006 from 4-7pm.
Guest participants can sample more than 50 wines from
around the world at the festival. Festival organizers also selected
vintages from local grapes grown in Cochise County and neighboring
communities to feature in the event. United Beverage Distributors
will pour old world wines from Italy, France, Germany, Spain and
Portugal, and new world wines from Australia, New Zealand, South America
(Chile & Argentina) and North America (Arizona, California, Oregon &
Washington). Knowledgeable wine stewards will be at each station to
answer questions about each vintage. To accompany the wine, a variety of
local dining establishments, such as Café Roka,
Bisbee Grille, and Café Cornucopia, will provide
tastes of their specialties.
Tickets for the Vintage Bisbee Wine Festival are $35 per person and can
be purchased at the Bisbee Visitor Center at 1-866-2BISBEE
(1-866-224-7233) or with the "Buy Now" button on

Bisbee Rotary Club Christmas in Naco 2005
Can you imagine waking up on Christmas morning and finding out that “Santa”
forgot to come?
No Christmas warmth, food, toys… not even a blanket?
Neither could we. That’s why seven years ago the Bisbee Rotary Club decided
it should help ”Santa” at the US/Mexican border located at Naco, Arizona. Each
year, the Bisbee Rotary asks individuals, businesses, and organizations to
assist in providing much needed food, clothing, blankets, and toys to the poorer
residents of Naco, Sonora, northern Mexico. Christmas morning, members of the
Bisbee Rotary Club take time to meet at the Naco Port of Entry to share in the
spirit of giving with our neighbors just across the border. When the club
started this, we helped approximately 30 people. Last year it was closer to 400.
The poverty is severe; the need great. Please help.
We are asking you to partner with us on this year’s Christmas in Naco. Please
consider a donation to this worthwhile community service effort to help our
neighbors just across the line. Donations can come in many forms:
1. Monetary donations;
2. Gift certificates;
3. The means to purchase wholesale, allowing us to purchase so much more with
the money we raise; or
4. In-kind contributions of basic food stuffs, blankets, clothing, and toys.
Thank you for your time and consideration of assistance with this compassionate
Bisbee Rotary Club project. If you have any further questions or need more
information, please feel free to call me, Carrie Gustavson, at 432-7071 or
contact me by email at carrie@bisbeemuseum.org. We also invite you to join us at
the Naco Port of Entry, 8:30 Christmas morning. Spending an hour or so helping
these families renders the spirit of holiday giving to its truest interpretation
with heartfelt warmth.
Christmas in Naco is over for this year. Please keep our project in
mind for next Christmas.
